Free Hugs

J Crew Top, F21 Jeans, Sirens Jacket, Aldo Bag

These pictures were shot at the spur of the moment sometime last week in the quaint and trendy little Gastown. I honestly love coming to this part of town because there’s just so much to see and so much to do.The night life is great and there are tons of restaurants and independent clothing stores sprawled around just waiting to be discovered. It has just the right touch of historical and creative elements, which really makes it so exciting to explore. I don’t think you could ever be bored in Gastown

On a different note, I was making my way to the skytrain station yesterday when a man with Down’s Syndrome came walking down the stairs and came right up to me and gave me the biggest hug imaginable. It was such a sweet and friendly gesture, and I was really touched by how something as simple as a hug made me feel so much better. It was, in all honesty, the highlight of my day. The world really needs more people like him! Where has the love gone?

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a lovely day. As always, thank you for reading =)

New to My Closet

Image

Here’s just a sneak peek at a few items I recently bought. The Zara polka dotted top is from their new linen collection, which I am absolutely in love with. It’s light and so comfortable to wear, I almost forget I’m wearing anything. I bought the other top from the JCrew factory store when I was down in Seattle with my boyfriend. It was an impulse buy, but I’m tremendously happy with it, especially considering the fact that it gives my wardrobe that added punch of colour it so desperately needs.

Well, thought I’d share a quick post since I haven’t had much time due to school and work. I miss having a social life haha. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great day!

Jargon

The sun graced us with it’s presence yet again today, but boy, was it decieving. I love Spring, but I hate it at the same time because all I want to do is frolick around in a dress, but the weather doesn’t exactly permit you to do that. I’m not complaining though, promise!

I’ve been finding it really difficult to coordinate outfits as of lately. Everything in my closet is so blah. First world problems, yeesh. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has these issues, but I’ve been quite frustrated regardless. Apart from my petty wardrobe issues, I truly enjoyed my day. I did a bit of shopping, drove around with the windows down, and ate a scrumptous dinner with my lovely girlfriends. Small thrills, big rewards =)

Hope everyone had a great one too!

Of New Beginnings

Hi world. I’ve been sitting here, attempting to write, but it seems that I’ve been struck by a mild case of writer’s block. In any case, I thought I’d start off simply by introducing myself. I’m Tanya– as the blog title clearly states– and I hail from the rainy, but always beautiful city of Vancouver. I am a writer, event planner, student, people watcher, and a gluttonous foodie. I enjoy traveling, playing billiards, trying new cuisines, and fashion. There’s so much to my multi- dimensional personality that it’s hard to summarize; I tend to lean towards the quirky, goofy side, but I am also stubborn and strong- minded. Essentially, what you see is what you get. I’d like to say I’m different, but that will make me exactly like everyone else. So, let’s just leave it at this: I’m Tanya, and I’m looking forward to a new beginning.

Thank you for reading.
