I am a self proclaimed tea fanatic, which is ironic because I love spending my time in coffee shops (which do sell tea, but that’s besides the point). That’s why when Stir Coffee House opened up in the heart of my little town I couldn’t help but be excited and intrigued. It’s such a trendy little spot which fits perfectly with the “downtown” area in Ladner that it’s a shame I don’t spend more time there. In any case, I finally managed to have a coffee date with my lovely friend Bella, and I enjoyed every sip of my Soy Chai latte! They made it very traditionally with lots of bold spices and tons of character (just the way my mum makes it), so I was very impressed that they managed to stick to some Indian roots. I take my Chai seriously afterall, haha. I’d definitely recommend dropping by for a cup of coffee if you’re ever in the neighbourhood! The drinks are delicious, the ambiance is perfect, and the staff is awesome! What more could you want?

The Right Impulse

I was perusing the mall the other day, and just happened to stroll into Coach at The Bay. What started out as casually browsing turned into casually purchasing. Normally when I act on impulse buying, I always tend to feel guilty and immediately return the product if I find that I don’t really need it. While I don’t really need this little wristlet, my guilt has been conquered by my sheer excitement as this is the first ever anything I’ve bought from Coach. I know it’s last year’s style, and it’s nothing too exciting and showy, but it’s definitely “me”. So, I’m happy that I finally treated myself to something nice (even if it is small)!

Of Holly and Florals

Clothes Rack Dress, Zara Cardigan

Happy Monday everyone! I finally had a FULL day to myself. While I didn’t spend it very productively, I did manage to sleep in, make my bed, listen to music, watch a cheesy romantic flick, and BLOG! This is the most relaxed I’ve been in a while since I never really get to spend any time at home completely carefree. I figured I’d take this chance to bum around and do nothing since the next few months are going to be very hectic. I have events to help organize, both, for a student club and a non-profit organization called Peace and Love International that I am currently volunteering for.

Anyway, my lovely mother helped snap some pictures of me last week while we went for a mother-daughter- bonding- time walk around our little town. Since it was a nice day, I decided to bust out this dress that has been sitting in my closet this entire summer. I felt it needed to be worn at least once before the rainy season begins, so I’m glad I had a good opportunity to wear it. I’ve been so on the go these past few months that when I find that I have spare time, I really don’t spend it on doing something crazy. It’s nice to slow down once in a while and get a chance to recharge your batteries. I guess it’s the little things that make a big difference, so here’s to lazy days!

Thank you for reading, as always ❤

Striped & Studded

J Crew Top and Scarf, F21 Jeans, Aldo Bag, Topshop Shoes

Well, it’s certainly been a while! This summer has just whizzed by, and I feel like I barely got anything done. Now that school has officially started, I’m trying to settle back into being a good student, but all I’ve been doing is day- dreaming about fashion and fashion- related things. And speaking of fashion, I just needed to showcase my favourite new find. I know, I know… everyone’s wearing these studded loafers now, but I just couldn’t resist!

I’m well aware that I look kind of silly in the first picture, but these shots were incredibly rushed and were taken right before I left for class today. I just felt like I needed to get back into the blogging game because I sincerely missed having an online presence. So, here’s my much needed excuse to post something, and that’s all for now.

Thanks for reading, and I hope everyone has a great day!

Something Blue

Zara Top, Dynamite Skirt, Le Chateau Shoes, Aldo Bag

Hi everyone! I must say, these past few weeks of summer have been very enjoyable. Last week, my boyfriend, Perry, and I decided to check out a new restaurant called Tap and Barrel that recently opened their doors in the up- and coming Olympic Village. Since I was meeting him after class, I decided to finally wear this blue skirt that I’ve been hatching in my closet for more than a month. I figured it would be appropriate for a school setting, but would transition well for dinner and drinks too. I think for the most part, I’m pretty happy with my purchase. At first I felt that it was a rather pointless impulse buy and I only held on to it because I got it at a really great price. But after playing around with different items, I’m glad I never returned it. Perfect summer skirt- check!
Anyway, I wanted to make a quick note on the restaurant. The place in itself is huge, and is cleverly situated in a beautiful location with an amazing backdrop of Science world and False Creek, which makes date night so much fun. We went there primarily for their impressive craft beer selection, but we both ended up with the same Classic Cheese Burger too. As you can see, they were very generous with their beer, and I happily sipped on my Red Truck Lager, which did a slight number on me… whoops. All in all, it was a really good experience, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next time I return. If you haven’t been there already, I suggest you mosey on down there soon!

Into the Green

RW&CO Top, Zara Shorts, Aldo Bag, Anne Klein Sunglasses

I’m absolutely in love with summer now that it has finally graced Vancouver with its presence. Not even the heat can make me complain, but I must admit that it does get a little unbearable when I’m at work in my all black ensemble. Thus, on days when I get to kick off my heels (literally!), I take full advantage of it and opt for a trusty pair of shorts and a breezy top such as this one (it has certainly become my uniform these past few weeks).
I wore this outfit to school on one particular sunny, hot day last week. I love going up to my campus despite the long trek up there. It’s just breathtakingly beautiful amidst the snow-capped mountains. It was one of those perfect days for lounging outside in between classes, and I did just that. I guess the only thing that I like about doing a summer semester is getting to experience the season up on campus; other than that, I haven’t exactly been committed to it… oops. I’m sure other students can agree though. On that note though, I suppose I should be making more of an attempt to at least pretend that I’m focusing on school, so I’m going to try and work on that assignment which is due tomorrow (and haven’t even remotely started doing). So, until next time then. Have a great week everyone!

Still Breathing

Material Girl Dress, Costa Blanca Cardigan, Spring Shoes, Steve Madden Bag

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve last published anything. I’ve been living a rather hectic lifestyle these past few weeks due to school and work, so it has left me with very little time to actually go out anywhere, let alone blog. This past weekend was very much the same– busy– but I did manage to snag some time to grab a quick dinner downtown with my lovely friends and my handsome boyfriend. The weather was being nice to us last Friday, so I took the opportunity to wear a dress. I realized how desperately I need to go shopping though. Hopefully I can find some spare time soon to do just that… and blog of course!

Anyway, I hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend! As always, thank you for reading and have a great week =)

I’ve always wanted to check out Meat and Bread ever since Diners, Drive- Ins and Dives did an episode that featured them. So, when Monday rolled around, I was very excited to finally dine there. This not so hidden treasure, located on Hastings and Cambie, definitely lives up to its name. Perfectly seasoned meat and ciabatta bread is a deadly combination for sandwich lovers or just food lovers in general. My friend Cindy and I were lucky because we got the last two Porchetta sandwiches which is their most popular one (and for good reason because it was just awesomely delicious). Oh my goodness, my taste buds were in over-drive. Every bite was something to enjoy, especially with a splash of mustard which gave it a very tangy and refreshing flavour that complimented the succulent and expertly chopped pieces of pork which was seasoned with herbs and topped with a salsa verde. Just thinking about it is making me drool. Meat and Bread is certainly the hub to grab a quick and delicious bite to eat, or the perfect place to kick back, relax and enjoy a tasty morsel and I would strongly recommend anyone, local or visitor, to dine there because I’m sure it’s quite difficult to be disappointed. I’m definitely going back for more!

Free Hugs

J Crew Top, F21 Jeans, Sirens Jacket, Aldo Bag

These pictures were shot at the spur of the moment sometime last week in the quaint and trendy little Gastown. I honestly love coming to this part of town because there’s just so much to see and so much to do.The night life is great and there are tons of restaurants and independent clothing stores sprawled around just waiting to be discovered. It has just the right touch of historical and creative elements, which really makes it so exciting to explore. I don’t think you could ever be bored in Gastown

On a different note, I was making my way to the skytrain station yesterday when a man with Down’s Syndrome came walking down the stairs and came right up to me and gave me the biggest hug imaginable. It was such a sweet and friendly gesture, and I was really touched by how something as simple as a hug made me feel so much better. It was, in all honesty, the highlight of my day. The world really needs more people like him! Where has the love gone?

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a lovely day. As always, thank you for reading =)

New to My Closet

Here’s just a sneak peek at a few items I recently bought. The Zara polka dotted top is from their new linen collection, which I am absolutely in love with. It’s light and so comfortable to wear, I almost forget I’m wearing anything. I bought the other top from the JCrew factory store when I was down in Seattle with my boyfriend. It was an impulse buy, but I’m tremendously happy with it, especially considering the fact that it gives my wardrobe that added punch of colour it so desperately needs.

Well, thought I’d share a quick post since I haven’t had much time due to school and work. I miss having a social life haha. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great day!
