Something Blue

Zara Top, Dynamite Skirt, Le Chateau Shoes, Aldo Bag

Hi everyone! I must say, these past few weeks of summer have been very enjoyable. Last week, my boyfriend, Perry, and I decided to check out a new restaurant called Tap and Barrel that recently opened their doors in the up- and coming Olympic Village. Since I was meeting him after class, I decided to finally wear this blue skirt that I’ve been hatching in my closet for more than a month. I figured it would be appropriate for a school setting, but would transition well for dinner and drinks too. I think for the most part, I’m pretty happy with my purchase. At first I felt that it was a rather pointless impulse buy and I only held on to it because I got it at a really great price. But after playing around with different items, I’m glad I never returned it. Perfect summer skirt- check!
Anyway, I wanted to make a quick note on the restaurant. The place in itself is huge, and is cleverly situated in a beautiful location with an amazing backdrop of Science world and False Creek, which makes date night so much fun. We went there primarily for their impressive craft beer selection, but we both ended up with the same Classic Cheese Burger too. As you can see, they were very generous with their beer, and I happily sipped on my Red Truck Lager, which did a slight number on me… whoops. All in all, it was a really good experience, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next time I return. If you haven’t been there already, I suggest you mosey on down there soon!

Thanks for reading ❤

Still Breathing

Material Girl Dress, Costa Blanca Cardigan, Spring Shoes, Steve Madden Bag

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve last published anything. I’ve been living a rather hectic lifestyle these past few weeks due to school and work, so it has left me with very little time to actually go out anywhere, let alone blog. This past weekend was very much the same– busy– but I did manage to snag some time to grab a quick dinner downtown with my lovely friends and my handsome boyfriend. The weather was being nice to us last Friday, so I took the opportunity to wear a dress. I realized how desperately I need to go shopping though. Hopefully I can find some spare time soon to do just that… and blog of course!

Anyway, I hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend! As always, thank you for reading and have a great week =)

Meat&Bread

I’ve always wanted to check out Meat and Bread ever since Diners, Drive- Ins and Dives did an episode that featured them. So, when Monday rolled around, I was very excited to finally dine there. This not so hidden treasure, located on Hastings and Cambie, definitely lives up to its name. Perfectly seasoned meat and ciabatta bread is a deadly combination for sandwich lovers or just food lovers in general. My friend Cindy and I were lucky because we got the last two Porchetta sandwiches which is their most popular one (and for good reason because it was just awesomely delicious). Oh my goodness, my taste buds were in over-drive. Every bite was something to enjoy, especially with a splash of mustard which gave it a very tangy and refreshing flavour that complimented the succulent and expertly chopped pieces of pork which was seasoned with herbs and topped with a salsa verde. Just thinking about it is making me drool. Meat and Bread is certainly the hub to grab a quick and delicious bite to eat, or the perfect place to kick back, relax and enjoy a tasty morsel and I would strongly recommend anyone, local or visitor, to dine there because I’m sure it’s quite difficult to be disappointed. I’m definitely going back for more!

Free Hugs

J Crew Top, F21 Jeans, Sirens Jacket, Aldo Bag

These pictures were shot at the spur of the moment sometime last week in the quaint and trendy little Gastown. I honestly love coming to this part of town because there’s just so much to see and so much to do.The night life is great and there are tons of restaurants and independent clothing stores sprawled around just waiting to be discovered. It has just the right touch of historical and creative elements, which really makes it so exciting to explore. I don’t think you could ever be bored in Gastown

On a different note, I was making my way to the skytrain station yesterday when a man with Down’s Syndrome came walking down the stairs and came right up to me and gave me the biggest hug imaginable. It was such a sweet and friendly gesture, and I was really touched by how something as simple as a hug made me feel so much better. It was, in all honesty, the highlight of my day. The world really needs more people like him! Where has the love gone?

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a lovely day. As always, thank you for reading =)
